Sharon N. is a North American academic who has published in the area of cross-cultural communications and learning. She was born to a Holocaust survivor father, had Ukrainian great-grandparents, and has both Orthodox and Liberal Jewish relatives who live in Israel.
She is presently a Unitarian-Universalist who practices yoga and is studying the Jewish Mussar method of personal character development. She is in an interfaith marriage, and dislikes dogmatic fundamentalism on either extreme of the spiritual or political spectrum. She values free speech, human rights, democratic justice, environmental stewardship, and the encouragement of a free and responsible search for individual spiritual meaning. She hopes that, one day, everyone may be able to renew their spirit via an openness to sources of moral wisdom that protect and uphold life.
